Notarization/Apostille

What is the Apostille Convention?
To have a document from one country recognized in another, it’s necessary to verify its use abroad. To reduce the time and cost involved in this process, if the issuing country’s authoritative body verifies the document, then countries that are part of the Apostille Convention acknowledge it without further verification, allowing its direct use in their own country.
In other words, as a convention that abolishes the requirement for legalization of foreign public documents, Korea has designated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice as the authorities for Apostille certification. The process of verifying and issuing a document by comparing the seal or signature according to the Apostille Convention regulations by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice is known as Apostille certification.  Our public documents that receive this Apostille certification can be recognized for their validity in Convention member countries without the need for consular verification by foreign diplomatic missions in Korea.

KTS provides Apostille issuance services and performs related issuance and necessary translation and notarization services.
